Annedale Town
Brian Hume
Annedale Town was built for the 2mm Scale Associations Golden Jubilee Layout Challenge in July 2010 and therefore is built to 2mm track and wheel standards. Annedale is set somewhere in the Pennines on the London Midland region of BR and the period portrayed is the early 60's with the change from steam to diesel.
The railway originally extended further up the dale as evidenced by the crossing gate beyond the buffer stop and the track bed still visible at the other side of the road.
All points are soldered on copper clad sleepers as is most of the rail with the exception of the town extension which is Easitrac. Stock is mainly converted propriety due to time constraints. But there will be an increasing number of finescale models as time permits
The model buildings, cars and figures are a mix of old and new with the older ones having been rescued from an earlier N gauge exhibition layout. I make no apology for this as a lot of the detailed painting on the cars and figures was the work of my late wife Anne after whom the layout is named.
